Position Summary
Assumes responsibility for performing duties related to the University's recruiting, application, and admission process for prospective transfer students. Assumes responsibility for adherence to rules and regulations governing federal, state, University, FERPA, and the NCAA including assisting in the education process extended to alumni and the community. Performs duties in full support of the University's mission, understanding that the positive and effective execution of these duties are instrumental to the education of the University's students.

Hiring Range
Budgeted starting salary for this position is $45,868 - $50,000, based on experience

Key Responsibilities
  • Manages a targeted travel territory and fosters relationships with students and school officials within that area. (Regular travel required). Represents the University of Hartford at local and regional recruitment events including, but not limited to, community college visits, transfer fairs and other recruitment events in an effort to promote the University and recruit prospective students.
  • Collects, reviews, tracks and evaluates transfer student applications against University standards of admission to determine acceptance at the University, using Slate CRM. Maintains scores and scholarship ranking information for accepted students. Handles highly sensitive information with confidentiality and tact while safeguarding the interests and well-being of the student.
  • Counsels and advises prospective students and their parents regarding collegiate programs, application requirements and procedures as well as general financial aid assistance opportunities and procedures at the University. Stays informed regarding current required curriculum within collegiate programs to ensure appropriate and accurate information is shared. Maintains consistent communication with students throughout the recruitment cycle, providing guidance and support.
  • Establishes, cultivates and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external constituents including campus departments, parents and prospective students. Utilizes Slate CRM and Banner SIS database technology to best serve students. Responds to parent and student inquiries via email, chat, telephone, and mail regarding admission requirements, curriculum, housing, the University community and general information in a timely manner. Ensures quality customer service and appropriate follow-up is provided for a seamless experience.
  • Asses dual enrollment (ECE), AP, IB and CLEP exams as well as college transcripts to determine transfer credit eligibility. Assumes responsibility for posting credits to student accounts in Banner SIS database.
  • Maintains credit equivalency information and regularly updates the accuracy of AP, IB and CLEP credits on the University website.
  • Contributes to the University's communication strategy by assisting in the planning and execution of communication campaigns to engage and inform transfer applicants.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to support the admission team and the broader recruitment strategy
