Position Announcement

Utah Valley University invites applications for a one-year Teacher Education full-time non-tenure track faculty position to teach general teacher education courses. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated knowledge of teacher education principles and practices as well as several years of relevant K-12 teaching experience. This individual will teach undergraduate courses in teacher education and other courses as deemed appropriate and per their training and experience. This individual will supervise student teachers, interns, and field students in their clinical experience. The position will begin August 1st, 2025.

The UVU School of Education currently offers undergraduate degrees in teacher education, a minor in autism studies, graduate degrees in educational leadership, school counseling, applied behavior analysis, and graduate certificates and endorsements. Summary of Responsibilities

Duties will include:
  1. Teach and prepare undergraduate teacher education courses
  2. Supervise student teachers, interns, and field students
  3. Conference with students regarding coursework, fieldwork, and academic endeavors
  4. Collaborate on department business, including the progression of students in the program
  5. Improve professionally and maintain currency in the courses taught
  6. Follows professional ethical standards



Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

Required Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited institution with a master's degree in a field closely related to Teacher Education
  • Earned relevant professional license or credentials
  • At least two years of relevant K-12 teaching experience or related work with K-12 age students.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of college/university teaching experience

  • Current research, instructional theory, methods, strategies, assessments, innovations and techniques in pre-service teacher education including clinical programming

  • Content and skills required to teach relevant courses

  • Work collaboratively with students, university and school colleagues, and community
